Summary
Now I always enjoy a chance to relive and replay a game I haven’t thought about in many years. History has already decided that just because you remember the game well doesn’t mean a remake or reforge version would match up or otherwise surpass your expectations. For me personally, I found this game to look a hell of a lot better than it did in my memory, they did an amazing job upscaling the cutscenes and adding little details here and there to make a huge difference. The controls are fine but it has a weird thing where old and new mechanics are in the game, I was never in the know and always playing catch up with the controls. The main campaign whilst loading screen heavy, it did scratch the itch and made my trip back down memory lane a really good experience. I dabbled in the other modes but to be honest, I’m here for the story and I was not disappointed. For me, the game shows why Blizzard has the following it does as this RTS definitely cemented their legacy, yes the controls let me down somewhat but overall I came away well chuffed with the game.
